How long will my order take?

If you're ordering directly from our website, then your order will be usually be dispatched via a next day delivery service within 48 hours of a proof being signed off and payment being received . On the very rare occassion that this isn't possible, we'll alert you via e-mail and give you a new estimated delivery date.

If you are using our design service then we'll try and get proofs across to you within 48 hours of receiving your design instructions.

Fully customised items will take a little but longer, but we'll give you a lead time once we know what you need.

What does lamination do?

Lamination can help to protect your sticker, sign or decal against fading and general wear and tear. It's not absolutely necessary on most of our products - the inks and materials we use are generally tough enough to look good for a few years - but it's a good idea for graphics you're going to use outdoors, move about lots or generally give some hammer to.

Do I need the design service?

Check the artwork guidelines. If you have you have a design in one of the formats described then you probably don't need the design service. If in doubt, the best thing to do is drop us an e-mail attach the file and we'll let you know.

What format should artwork take?

Ideally your artwork should be in one of the following formats:

  • .eps with fonts converted to outline.
  • .ai with fonts converted to outlines
  • .pdf with fonts embedded.

Where that's not possible we can also accept these files:

  • .jpeg of at least 500dpi
  • .bmp of at least 500dpi

If you have artwork in a different format then we may still be able to work with it. If in doubt, send it across to us on an email and we'll take a look at it for you.

In some circumstances we may not be able to work with your file in .jpeg or .bmp format (for example in more complex vehicle livery designs). If this is the case then we'll get in touch and try and find a way around the problem. In some instances this might mean we have to charge you an artwork fee, but we'll let you know before we start any work and ask you to confirm that you're happy to go ahead.

Color Matching

If you need a specific colour match then we will ask you to send us a physical sample of the colour or colours you need. We would also recommend that you request a printed proof of your order. Where printed proofs are not supplied and approved we cannot guarantee a colour match.

Are Blackfall's Graphics blast proof as standard?

The standard decals in our race graphics range aren't blast proof. They're printed onto standard vinyl and left unlaminated. We don't know about you, but we're always turning up to the track and finding that someone else has the same number as us (yep - a bit of gamesmanship never goes amiss) so we like our plates cheap and disposible. If, however, you're looking for something that'll take a little more wear, drop us an e-mail and we'll make it happen.

Our full custom motocross, quad, rally and kart kits are blastproof as standard.

Are Blackfall's Graphics easy to apply?

Our stickers are pretty easy to apply, but you will need a little bit of patience if you're sticking them to a curved surface. They come with application instructions and to get the best results we recommend that you apply the stickers AFTER you've read them. (Yeah, we've never managed that yet.) We've learnt the hard way that stickering up your kart or bike or car in a force 9 gale 3 minutes before scrutineering finishes can only end in disaster so pick a moment of calm when you're in a nice dry sheltered spot, make sure your hands are totally clean (with absolutely no oil or grease residue on them.. or moisturiser either for that matter) and then begin...

Are Blackfall's Graphics easy to remove?

Yeah - all of our stickers are removable (although not re-usable so make sure you mean it when you take them off). With most of our race graphic range you'll be able to ease up an edge with your fingernail and take it from there. Tougher stickers might need a little heat applying with a hairdryer to melt the glue, but they should come off without leaving any residue.

Will Blackfall's Graphics help me go faster?

Aw man, we're sorry, but we can't make any outlandish claims of that nature. All we can really do is make you look good. But, hey, there is a school of thought that believes when you look good, you feel good and when you feel good you do good, so if you slap on some of our graphics you never know....

Do you do banners and signs in any other sizes?

Yes we do, we just can't fit them all on our website. If the size you'd like isn't listed please contact us by e-mail or by phone on 01388 731 999 for a quote.

I'd like a banner with a coloured background. Can you do it?

Of course we can. Contact us by e-mail or telephone to let us know what you have in mind and we'll let you know if its possible.

I'd like a banner printed on both sides. Is that possible?

No problems. Email us or call us on 01388 731 999 for a quote.

Will my banner fray if it's left unhemmed?

No, not for a good long while anyway. The banner material we use is PVC coated and very resistant to any sort of fraying. If you want to hang your banner outdoors for a really long period of time (2 years or more) then we would recommend that you have it hemmed for strength.

What is Corrugated Plastic Board then?

It's the durable plastic board that estate agents' signs are usually made from.

Corrugated plastic is excellent for short-term outdoor signs (so brilliant for signs advertising events, sales, building contractors or well, anything really) because it's weatherproof, lightweight, flexible, easy to manoeuvre and it just keeps on looking good.

Corrugated plastic boards can be tied with cable ties, stuck up with double-sided tap, suction cups or velcro or it can be nailed, screwed, riveted or glued to walls.

Although it comes in a wide range of thicknesses, here at Blackfall we stock 5mm corrugated plastic board as standard. Please just let us know if you need it in a different thickness.

What is Foam PVC board?

Foam PVC board is a medium-weight, hard-wearing plastic baoard that can be used both indoors and out. You've probably seen it around on shop fascias, exhibition panels, information boards and directional signs.

Foam PVC board can be nailed, screwed, riveted or glued into place. It can be post-mounted or hung in a frame.

Foam PVC board is available in a range of thicknesses but Blackfall uses 5mm as standard. For anything else please contact us.

How can I hang up my sign board?

Corrugated plastic boards can be tied with cable ties, stuck up with double-sided tap, suction cups or velcro or it can be nailed, screwed, riveted or glued to walls.

Foam PVC board can be nailed, screwed, riveted or glued into place. It can be post-mounted or hung in a frame.

Can you produce custom graphics for any vehicle?

Yep, we certainly can. Just drop us an email, tell us what you've got in mind and we'll make it happen.

Can you fit custom graphics?

Sure - we're based in County Durham so we're pretty much limited to the North East of England, but we can fit your graphics if you're in the area.

Will Blackfall fit vehicle graphics?

Yeah sure. We're based in County Durham, so we are pretty much limited fitting graphics in the North East of England. You can bring your vehicle across to us or, if you just can't do without your car or van we can arrange to come across to you.

Can I fit vehicle graphics myself?

Sure you can. Okay, so we're not talking about full vehicle wraps here, but the more simple vehicle graphics are fairly easy to apply. With a little bit of patience, a nice sheltered spot in a garage or a tranquil drive way and a pair of lovey clean hands, fantastic results can be achieved. Application instructions are included with all graphics and we'll be on hand to give you any tips or hints.

If you're in the North East of England and you'd prefer to us to do it though, get in touch and we can arrange a time that's convenient.

Are vehicle graphics washable?

They certainly are... but within reason. If you power wash them, or steam clean them then the likelihood is that they will peel off.....

Will vehicle graphics damage my vehicle?

No - as long as they aren't stuck on over rust patches or flaky paint then vehicles graphics shouldn't cause any damage when they are removed.

Wheel cover stickers: Will they stick to soft covers too?

We wouldn't recommend a wheel cover sticker for a soft cover. Soft covers are more likely to have been treated with a scotchguard or an oil-based substance which wouldn't allow the vinyl to bond with the fabric.

Are frosted window panels see-through?

No - the actual frosted film isn't see-through but you'll be able to see out of the bits (your name and logo, for example) we'll have cut out.

Are frosted window panels easy to apply?

Our frosted window panels come with comprehensive application instructions. With a little oasis of calm, a nice cup of tea and a lovely pair of clean hands, the application process is pretty darned straightforward. And, of course, we'll be on hand to help if you run into difficulties.

What do you mean by wall graphics?

We mean vinyl wall stickers, but if you like we can also make single-use paint or spray paint stencils.

Do they come with application instructions?

They certainly do.

Can I stick them to anything?

Well you can stick them to pretty any smooth surface you can find. They stick to walls, ceilings, fridges, mirrors, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and even windows. However, there are a frw thinks you probably shouldn't stick them to...

It's not a good idea to stick these decals to flaky or wet paint, wallpaper, fresh plaster or bubbly varnish just because the wall sticker will pull off the paint, paper, plaster or varnish when it's removed.

Lumpy surfaces can't be disgused with wall sticker and they should really be because they may pierce or damage the stickers.

The stickers won't stick to any damp surfaces. You have to make sure your wall is perfectly dry before applying the wall decals. They can get as wet as you like once they're stuck on and the glue has set.

Are wall graphics removable?

Yes they are fully removable and shouldn't leave any residue when you take them down. They aren't reusable though.

Will wall graphics damage my walls when they're removed?

No they won't cause any damage (as long as you haven't stuck them over wet or flaky paint, plaster or varnish) but they cause a little bit of flecking on some walls.
